A mass shooting in Queens, New York City, left ten people injured late on New Year’s Day, according to a statement from the New York Police Department during a briefing early Thursday, as reported by Reuters.
Police reported, the injured in the incident outside a private events club late on Wednesday evening included six females and four males and all injured are expected to recover, as per reuters report.
The incident took place when 3-4 males opened fire toward a crowd outside the club, according to the NYPD, quoted by Reuters. social media users expressing their shock at the incident and sharing pictures of police deployment at the scene.
Police eliminated the possibility of a terrorist attack, according to Reuters report.
The incident occurred hours after two other violent events in the U.S. on New Year’s Day. In New Orleans, a truck crashed into a crowded street with New Year’s revelers, killing 15 people, while in Las Vegas a Tesla truck exploded outside a Trump hotel in Las Vegas, killing one person and seven injured.
U.S. authorities were urgently working to identify suspects connected to the New Orleans and Las Vegas incidents and further investigating potential terrorism angles, as per Reuters.
