The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founded by Imran Khan has launched a nationwide demonstration demanding freedom of its leader.

While adressing the supporters near the Hazra Interchange, Bushra Bibi declared, “We will not end this march until Imran is with us.” She said, ”I will stay there till my last breath, and all of you have to support me. This is not just about my husband but about the country and its leader.” (Dawn)
Bushra Bibi is part of a convoy which is led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Amin Ali Gandapur.
Reports indicate that Gandapur’s convoy has reached a critical point, with the Southern Districts convoy currently at Hakla Interchange near Fateh Jang in Punjab.
According to Shahid Khattak, the PTI President of the South region KP, the convoy will proceed towards Islamabad once Gandapur’s convoy crosses Kati Pahari.
In a post on X, the PTI announced, ”At present, Our Southern Districts convoy is at Hakla Interchange and we are waiting for Ali Amin Gandapur’s convoy. As soon as they cross the Kati Pahari we will join them and proceed towards Islamabad.”
Meanwhile, Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, claimed that many PTI leaders and members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are voluntarily seeking arrest to avoid participating in the planned protest which was called for Imran Khan the PTI founder to release from jail, Reported by ARY News.
He claimed that the PTI leadership is not genuinely interested in securing the release of its leader, Imran Khan, from jail. He also cited reports from Punjab and Islamabad suggesting that several PTI leaders, both senior and junior, are voluntarily surrendering to the authorities.
Tarar pointed to internal divisions within the party, particularly between Bushra Bibi and Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur.
As per ARY News, Tarar suggested that the PTI protest was mainly focused on securing an NRO-like concession for Imran Khan’s release, a demand the government cannot meet, as it falls under the jurisdiction of the courts. He urged the PTI to address the issue through legal sytems, as Khan is facing multiple charges.
