(Forelines) – India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will be on an formal visit to France, European Union and Belgium from 08-14 June 2025, Ministry of External affairs said in a press release on Sunday.
India’s EAM Jaishanker would visit Paris and Marseille as part of this trip, where he would have bilateral talks with the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean Noel Barrot.
Jaishankar will also engage with the senior leadership of France, interact with think tanks and media. He would also take part in the first Mediterranean Raisina Dialogue, which was hosted in Marseille.
“India and France have completed 25 years of strategic partnership. Our relations with France are rooted in deep trust and commitment, and our two countries cooperate closely across all domains of strategic and contemporary relevance besides sharing similar outlook on many regional and global issues,” as per the MEA press release.
Along with engaging with think tanks and the media, EAM will also undertake a Strategic Dialogue with Ms. Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative and Vice President, and the top leadership of the European Commission and European Parliament during the visit.
“European Union strategic partnership has strengthened over the years across diverse sectors and got a big boost with the first-ever visit of the EU College of Commissioners to India in February this year,” as per the press release.
India’s EAM Jaishankar would meet with Belgium’s senior leadership and have bilateral discussions with Maxime Prevot, the country’s foreign minister and deputy prime minister, when he was there. Additionally, he will engage with the Indian community members.
According to the press release, “India and Belgium share warm and friendly relations along with a very robust economic partnership. Today the collaboration between the two countries spans various domains like trade and investment, green energy, technology, pharmaceutical, diamond sector and strong people to people ties.”
It is anticipated that EAM’s visit will strengthen India’s ties with the EU, France, and Belgium and provide fresh impetus for continued collaboration in a variety of fields.
