(Forelines) – From July 23 to 24, 2025, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make an official visit to the United Kingdom at the request of The Rt. Hon. Sir Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Prime Minister Modi will be visiting the UK for the fourth time, according to Indian Ministry of External affairs said in a statement.
Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Starmer will discuss a wide range of topics pertaining to India-UK bilateral relations during the visit. Additionally, they will provide opinions on matters of regional and international significance.
Prime Minister Modi is anticipated to visit His Majesty King Charles III as well. The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) will also be reviewed during the visit, with particular attention paid to trade and economics, technology and innovation, defense and security, climate, health, education, and people-to-people relations.
“In the second leg of his visit, Prime Minister will undertake a State Visit to Maldives from July 25 – 26, 2025 on the invitation of the President of the Republic of Maldives, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. This will be Prime Minister’s third visit to Maldives, and the first visit by a Head of State or Government to Maldives during the Presidency of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Muizzu,” India’s MEA stated in a statement.
On July 26, 2025, the Prime Minister will serve as the “Guest of Honor” at the Maldives’ 60th anniversary of independence celebrations. The Prime Minister will meet with H.E. Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during the visit and discuss topics of shared interest.
The two leaders will also assess how well the India-Maldives Joint Vision for a “Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership,” which was adopted during the Maldivian president’s state visit to India in October 2024, is being implemented.
The visit demonstrates how much India values the Maldives, its marine neighbor, which is still given special consideration under India’s “Neighbourhood First” policy and Vision MAHASAGAR. Both parties will have the chance to further develop and fortify their tight bilateral relationship during the visit.
