(Forelines) – As part of the Indian Navy’s ongoing operational deployment to South East Asia, the Indian Naval Ships INS Delhi, Shakti, and Kiltan arrived at Manila, Philippines, under the direction of Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet (FOCEF), Radm Susheel Menon, Indian Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

The Philippine Navy staff welcomed the ships with open arms and underlined the strong and increasing maritime connection between India and the Philippines.

The Indian Navy’s devotion to reinforcing relations in the Indo-Pacific has been shown by the visit.

Upon the trip, Radam Susheel Menon talked to local media representatives, underlining the two countries’ mutual dedication to sustaining maritime peace and security.

He underlined how crucial these deployments are to fostering mutual respect, trust, and collaboration between friendly marine forces.

The high-level engagement with the Philippine Navy, an overview of India’s maritime outreach in the area, and the event’s strategic importance are enhanced by the visits.

The Indian Navy and the Philippine Navy are anticipated to be taking part in many harbor engagements during the port visit. Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEE), cross-deck visits, discussions about operational planning, and other social and professional exchanges aimed at enhancing interoperability and mutual learning are a few examples.

A bilateral maritime exercise between the two militaries will also be part of the visit, with an emphasis on coordinated maneuvers and communication protocols to enhance readiness, foster mutual trust, and fortify operational synergy in the maritime domain.
