Islamabad shut its air space for India’s airlines and declined New Delhi’s halt of a water sharing treaty on Thursday in reprisal for neighbouring India’s reply to a lethal terror attack in Kashmir, according to Reuters.

The declaration from the Prime Minister’s Office followed a discussion of the National Security Committee, a day following New Delhi stated there were cross-border aspects to Tuesday’s assault, in which 26 men were killed by terrorists at a famous tourist place, as per Reuters.

Indian police issued notices naming three terrorist accussed and mentioning two were Pakistanis, but India has not gave any evidence of the connections or shared any further information.

Nevertheless, on Wednesday it declined relations with Pakistan, stopping a six-decade historic treaty on the waters of the Indus river and ending the solely land-based crossing between the neighbours.

“Any threat to Pakistan’s sovereignty and to the security of its people will be met with firm reciprocal measures in all domains,” according to the Pakistani release, reported by Reuters.

It further stated that any try to halt or divert water belonging to Pakistan could be recognized a declaration of war. (Forelines)
