(Forelines) – Russia’s foreign ministry announced on Tuesday that it is still working on the draft memorandum that lays out the fundamentals of a potential future peace agreement to end the conflict in Ukraine, according to Reuters report.
Following a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump earlier this month, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin stated that Moscow was prepared to collaborate with Ukraine on a memorandum for a future peace agreement, as per the report.
According to Putin, cited by Reuters that the memorandum would outline the parameters of a possible settlement, the timeline for possible peace agreement, and specifics of a possible truce.
Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the foreign ministry, stated that the Russian draft was still being worked on and would be given to Ukraine when it was complete, as per Reuters.
“If the right agreements are made, Russia is still working on a draft memorandum on a future peace treaty that outlines a variety of views, including the principles of settlement, the date of a prospective peace deal, and a potential ceasefire for a specific period of time,”Maria Zakharova stated, cited by Reuters.
