(Forelines) – At the request of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will visit India on an official basis from September 02–04, 2025. This would be Prime Minister Wong’s first visit to India as the prime minister of Singapore, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
He will be joined by his spouse, Lawrence Wong, and a high-level grouping of high officials and cabinet ministers, MEA said.
On September 4, 2025, Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Wong are expected to have bilateral talks during the visit. Droupadi Murmu, the Honorable President, will be visited by Prime Minister Wong.
Dr. S. Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, and other dignitaries are also anticipated to call Prime Minister Wong while on the tour.
As part with our “Act East” Policy, Singapore is a vital partner for India. When Prime Minister Modi visited Singapore in September 2024, bilateral ties were elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, MEA added.
Prime Minister Wong’s impending visit and the 60th anniversary of India-Singapore diplomatic relations serve as a reminder of both countries’ continued dedication to strengthening their friendship.
The visit will give both prime ministers a chance to assess our strong and diverse partnership and to chart a course for future cooperation. Additionally, the two prime ministers will discuss topics of mutual interest on a regional and global level.
