Talks between Yunus, PM Modi will yield hope, Says Adviser to Bangladesh’s Interim Govt

(Forelines) – Adviser to Bangladesh’s Interim Government, Supradip Chakma, stated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus had a meeting and discuused “very positively” and shared hope that the talks would surely yield some positive hope and aspiration for the two countries, according to ANI report.

In an interview with ANI, he stated that New Delhi and Dhaka have had positive relations since the Bangladesh independence. He said that both countries have to continue hand-in-hand in the coming years to enhance and strengthen relations.

When questioned about the current talks between India’s PM Modi and Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Yunus on behind the scenes of the BIMSTEC Summit, Supradip Chakma stated, “Well, this is the basic, you see, with the two neighbours, we have a good relations since long since the creation of this nation. So, it is a prime step for the two of us. I seriously believe that the two leaders met together and talked very positively. So, this will definitely yield some good hope, aspiration of two nations and two people. I seriously believe in engagement, and I know that this engagement will give a good result. I believe that in the future, we also have to remain hand in hand to develop and progress our relations and our people.”

On April 4, India’s PM Narendra Modi met Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok and restarted New Delhi support for a democratic, inclusive, peaceful, progressive, and stable Bangladesh. India’s PM Modi highlighted New Delhi’s issues connected to the safety and security of minorities in Bangladesh, comprising Hindus, and stated his hope that the Dhaka’s government would affirm their security, including by extensively investigating the cases of crimes engaged against them, as per the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) statement.

Supradip Chakma highlighted that the majority community of Bangladesh significants to follow a good attitude and play a role in fostering the confidence of the Indian minority community.

According to ANI report, on being questioned about India’s PM Narendra Modi’s issues relating to the safety and security of Bangladesh’s minorities, Supradip Chakma stated, “Being the minority community member in the cabinet, let me tell you that well, the big community has to take the positive attitude and positive role to develop the confidence of the small group of the country. It is religious, a small community or another small community. It is, I seriously believe, and I always say that let the big community take the role and then they will create confidence and we will believe it. I am there.”

On how Dhaka and New Delhi can collaborate in future for the advantage of the two countries, Supradip Chakma stated, “The thing is this very simple one. Engagement is very essential. Let us engage.”
