(Forelines) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his condolences for the deaths in the Dhaka flight tragedy on July 21, 2025, and promised support and help, according to India’s Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.

“Deeply shocked and saddened at the loss of lives, many of them young students, in a tragic air crash in Dhaka. Our hearts go out to the bereaved families. We pray for the swift recovery of those injured. India stands in solidarity with Bangladesh and is ready to extend all possible support and assistance,” PM Modi wrote in a post on X.

“A team of burn-specialist Doctors and Nurses with necessary medical support are scheduled to visit Dhaka shortly to treat the victims. They will make an assessment of the condition of patients with recommendation for further treatment and specialised care in India as necessary. Additional medical teams may also follow depending on their preliminary assessment and treatment,” India’s MEA said in a statement.

On 21 July 2025 at 1:12 pm BST (UTC +6), an FT-7BGI fighter jet flown by the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) crashed into the Milestone College campus in Uttara, Dhaka, Bangladesh. After a mechanical issue, the plane was trying to land at BAF Base Kurmitola when it crashed. 165 people were hurt, and at least 31 individuals—mostly children—were killed.
