(Forelines) – About 70 kilometers (43.5 miles) from the Austrian border, a man attacked and injured four people on a high-speed train in southern Germany on Thursday before being taken into custody, according to police, quoted by Reuters.
About 500 people were traveling from Hamburg, in northern Germany, to Vienna, the capital of Austria, on the ICE 91 train. According to Reuters, citing police statement, the individual was taken into custody and the rail route was closed.
“Today at around 1:55 p.m., (1155 GMT) a man injured several people with dangerous objects on an ICE train heading towards Vienna shortly before Strasskirchen,” Police in the southern state of Bavaria stated in a statement, quoted by Reuters.
The assailant also suffered injuries., police stated, Reuters quoted.
