China rejects Ukraine’s President Zelenskiy’s claim it is supplying weapons to Moscow

China’s foreign ministry rejected as “groundless” on Friday an allegation by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that the nation had been providing weapons to Moscow.

Although maintaining close economic relations with Moscow during Russia’s three-year conflict in Ukraine, Beijing has pursued to project a picture of neutrality and rejects any engagement in the conflict.

Friday’s disclaimer followed Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s address at a press conference the last day that Beijing was providing weapons and gunpowder to Moscow, while further alleging it of manufacturing weapons on Russia’s region.

Beijing has not ever made deadly weapons accessible to any party to the Ukrainian crisis, Lin Jian, ministry spokesperson said a regular news briefing.

“China’s position on the Ukrainian issue has always been clear,” Lin Jian stated. “It has been actively committed to promoting a ceasefire and ending the conflict, as well as encouraging peace talks.”

Beijing resists groundless allegations and political manipulation, stated by Lin Jian, noting that Ukraine had stated publicly that many of the components in weapons imported by Moscow came from the U.S. and other Western countries. (Forelines)
