Forelines publishes independent research and analysis on global affairs. This policy sets out the standards every piece is held to.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made by our editors alone. No advertiser, funder, government or political group reviews or approves our work before publication.
Accuracy and sourcing
We rely on verifiable evidence: primary documents, official data, credible reporting and on-the-record expertise. Sources are linked or named wherever possible, and claims that cannot be independently verified are identified as such.
Types of publication
- Current Analysis — timely interpretation of developments as they unfold.
- Briefs — short readouts on a single issue.
- Forelines In-Depth — long-form research on a significant question.
- Explainers — background that makes complex issues clear.
- Perspectives — argued viewpoints that represent the author’s own view, not an institutional position.
Impartiality
We aim to present the strongest version of competing arguments and to keep evidence distinct from interpretation. Perspectives are always labelled, so readers know when they are reading an argument.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and note the correction on the piece. To report an error, contact us with a link to the piece and the details.
