India’s EAM S Jaishankar meets next US NSA Michael Waltz; discusses bilateral partnership, global issues

S Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister met with the next US National Security Advisor, Michael Waltz on Friday evening (local time) during his officail visit to the United States.

The two leaders engaged in discussions on strengthening their bilateral partnership and addressing current global issues, and S Jaishankar stated that he is looking forward to working with Waltz.

“Delighted to meet Rep. @michaelgwaltz this evening. Enjoyed a wide-ranging conversation on our bilateral partnership as well as current global issues. Look forward to working with him,” S Jaishankar stated in a post on X.

India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, during his formal visit to US, wrapped up a two-day conference of the team at the Indian Embassy in the US and Consuls General, and expressed his confident that the deliberations will further accelerate the continuous growth of the India-US partnership.

“Concluded a very useful two day conference of team @IndianEmbassyUS and our Consuls General in Washington DC today. Confident from the deliberations that the continuous growth of the India-US partnership will be accelerated,” India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar posted on X.

Earlier, India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a meeting with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in Washington, DC, on Thursday. S Jaishankar stated that the two leaders held wide-ranging discussions on the progress of the India-US strategic partnership and exchanged views on current regional and global developments.

In a post on X, S Jaishanker stated, “Good to meet US NSA @JakeSullivan46 in Washington D.C. this morning. A wide ranging discussion on the progress of India-US strategic partnership. Also exchanged views on current regional and global developments.”

India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also held a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington, DC on Thursday. The two leaders reviewed the advancement of India-US partnership over the last four years and agreed that collaboration has strengthened in various sectors.

S Jaishankar expressed confidence that relations between India and US will serve mutual interests and global good.

S Jaishankar wrote in a post on X, “Delighted to meet @SecBlinken yesterday evening in Washington D.C. Reviewed the advancement of India – US partnership over the last four years. Agreed that our cooperation has strengthened in many domains, just as our comfort levels have grown correspondingly. Confident that India-US relationship will serve our mutual interests as well as global good.”

During his formal visit to the US, S Jaishankar met with India’s Ambassador to the US, Vinay Kwatra, and Consul Generals from New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston, and Atlanta.

The officials explored opportunities to deepening India-US partnership, focusing on technology, trade and investments.

In a post on X, S Jaishankar said, “A productive day with team @IndianEmbassyUS and our Consul Generals based in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston and Atlanta. Discussed opportunities for deepening India-US partnership, focusing on technology, trade and investments. Also shared views on better serving the Indian community in the USA.”

On Tuesday, senior diplomats from India and the United States held a meeting, during which US Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma welcomed Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Ambassador to the US Vinay Kwatra. Verma emphasized their shared dedication to advancing India-US relations.

“Great to welcome Indian Foreign Secretary @VikramMisri & Indian Ambassador to the US @AmbVMKwatra back to @StateDept, alongside @DeputySecState Campbell. We look forward to continuing to grow #USIndia ties are rooted in mutual trust, shared values, prosperity for all,” Richard Verma wrote, while Sharing a post on X on Tuesday.
