(Forelines) – Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told state television in a footage released on Sunday that Russian President Vladimir Putin is prepared to move toward a peace settlement for Ukraine, but Moscow’s primary priority is to accomplish its objectives, according to Reuters report.

Although Peskov acknowledged that the world was now used to U.S. President Donald Trump’s occasionally “harsh” speech, he also noted that Trump had made it clear in remarks about Russia that he would keep looking for a peace agreement, added in a report

“President Putin has repeatedly spoken of his desire to bring the Ukrainian settlement to a peaceful conclusion as soon as possible. This is a long process, it requires effort, and it is not easy,” according to Reuters, citing Dmitry Peskov stated told state television reporter Pavel Zarubin.

“The main thing for us is to achieve our goals. Our goals are clear,” Dmitry Peskov stated, quoted by Reuters.

As per Reuters, Trump pledged a fresh round of military assistance to Ukraine, including Patriot missile defense systems, on Monday, signaling a more aggressive posture toward Russia. He also threatened to impose more penalties on Russia unless Moscow agreed to a ceasefire within 50 days.
