Russia’s missile strike kills one, wounds 112 in Ukraine’s Kharkiv, says officials

(Forelines) – A Russia’s missile strike on Kharkiv northeastern city of Ukraine killed one man inside his home and injured around 112 others, consisting of nine children, on Friday, According to Reuters, quoting officials report.

“This is how Russia began this Good Friday – with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, Shaheds – maiming our people and cities,” Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy posted on X.

The mayor of Ukraine’s, Ihor Terekhov, second largest city, stated the strike destroyed 21 apartment buildings, two kindergartens, two schools,a children’s arts centre and a factory, where the attack led to a fire. Over 5,000 windows were destroyed in the strike, as per the official.

“Everything went flying in all rooms, the windows shattered,” stated Inna Khrystych, one of the locals. “My husband died.”

Andriy Ponomarenko stated he and his wife were woke up by the attack and ran to find their four-year-old daughter amongst the smoke and destroyed glass.

“We first thought the blood was mine but turned out she got a cut by her eye,” Ponomarenko stated.

Ukrainian foreign minister stated Moscow carried out four missiles at Kharkiv, three of them ballistic and holding cluster warheads.

“Russia is a terror machine. It will only stop if we confront it with true strength,” Andriy Sybiha further stated, a day following meeting United States, French, British and German ambassadors in Paris.

Volodymyr Zelenskiy further said later that developed Iskander missiles had been deployed in the strike.

Moscow and Ukraine accepted to a United States-brokered moratorium on attacks against energy infrastructure previous month, but both parties have alleged each other since of breaching it.

President Zelenskiy said in a press briefing in Kyiv on Thursday that in total, Moscow was carrying out the exact number of drones and missiles at Ukraine as prior the deal.

Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that Moscow has declined the number of its attacks on Ukraine’s energy sites, but was assaulting public infrastructure.

According to Reuters, citing officials report, a Friday morning drone strike on Sumy, additional northeastern city, further killed one person and wounded further at a factory baking Easter cakes.
