Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran, declared in a statement on Friday that Israel started a war and that it would not be let to launch “hit and run” operations without facing serious repercussions, according to Reuters reported on Friday.

“The Zionist regime (Israel) will not remain unscathed from the consequences of its crime. The Iranian nation must be guaranteed that our response will not be half-measured,” Khamenei stated in a statement, cited by Reuters.
