India-Nepal Boundary Working Group (BWG) meets seventh time in New Delhi

(Forelines) – On July 28 and 29, 2025, the India-Nepal Boundary Working Group (BWG) met for the seventh time in New Delhi, India, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said in a Statement.

The Indian delegation was led by Makwana, Surveyor General of India, Survey of India, Hitesh Kumar S. The Nepali delegation was led by Director General, Survey Department, Government of Nepal, Prakash Joshi.

Following the most recent (6th) BWG meeting in August 2019, the parties examined the status of the work completed since then.

In order to speed work in this area, the two parties unanimously established “Updated Modalities for Inspection, Repair & Maintenance of Boundary Pillars along the India-Nepal Boundary,” MEA Said.

The work plan for the after three years was further confirmed at the BWG conference. The employment of cutting-edge technologies for border work was agreed upon by both parties.

Ultimately, it was finalized that the another meeting of the Survey Officials Committee (SOC) would take place in Nepal shortly on dates that were mutually agreed upon.
