(Forelines) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation on Friday with the Russian President Vladimir Putin, India PMO said in a statement.
Russian President Putin briefed PM Modi on the recent developments in relation to Ukraine.
While expressing gratitude President Putin for thorough evaluation, PM Modi reaffirmed India’s steadfast support for a peaceful settlement of the dispute.
The both leaders further reviewed progress in the bilateral agenda, and reaffirmed their dedication to further strengthen the Special and Privileged Strategic collaboration between New Delhi and Moscow.
PM Modi invited Russian President Putin to India for the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit later this year.
“Had a very good and detailed conversation with my friend President Putin. I thanked him for sharing the latest developments on Ukraine. We also reviewed the progress in our bilateral agenda, and reaffirmed our commitment to further deepen the India-Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership. I look forward to hosting President Putin in India later this year,” PM Modi said in a post on X.
“In light of the special privileged partnership between Russia and India, Vladimir Putin shared the key outcomes of his meeting with US President’s Special Envoy Steven Witkoff, held on August 6 in Moscow,” Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a post on Telegram.
