(Forelines) – The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has welcomed British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who is traveling to India for the first time with the biggest trade delegation ever from the UK, with open arms.
According to Prime Minister Modi, he is excited for their meeting tomorrow in order to further the two countries’ common goal of a more powerful and prosperous future together.

On October 8–9, 2025, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer MP traveled to India at the request of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Starmer visited India for the first time, according to Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
In accordance with “Vision 2035,” a targeted and time-bound 10-year roadmap of programs and initiatives in the key pillars of trade and investment, technology and innovation, defense and security, climate and energy, health, education, and people-to-people relations, the two prime ministers will assess progress in a variety of areas of the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during their visit to Mumbai on October 9.
As a key component of the future India-UK economic engagement, both leaders will discuss the potential offered by the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with companies and industry leaders. Additionally, they will provide opinions on matters of regional and international significance.
Both Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Starmer will give keynote speeches at the sixth Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai. Additionally, the leaders will interact with innovators, legislators, and industry experts.
The visit will build on the momentum and substance created by Prime Minister Modi’s July 23–24, 2025, visit to the UK. It will offer a priceless chance to restate India and the UK’s common goal of establishing a partnership that looks to the future.
