(Forelines) – Pabitra Margherita, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles [MOS(PM)], has been invited by the Government of Papua New Guinea to visit the country on September 16, 2025, in order to represent Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the celebrations of the country’s 50th anniversary of independence.
MOS (PM) is anticipated to engage bilaterally with Papua New Guinea’s political leadership during the visit. Additionally, he will engage with Papua New Guinea’s business community and Indian diaspora.
The visit of the MOS (PM) to Papua New Guinea would be an opportunity to continue our engagement with the leadership in the Pacific Island Countries (PICs) after the historic 3rd Summit of the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC), which was chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in May 2023 in Port Moresby.
